I won’t lie, this has become my daily mantra. If I don’t tell myself this, it’s incredibly hard to get out of bed and actually feel like a human being with a purpose.
I can’t tell if I’m chained to my bed because of sleep deprivation (thank you wonderful son who refuses to stay in his bed), or if it’s the depression that tends to kick in at the worst time possible (thanks lupus). Truthfully, I don’t know why, but waking up every day when you’re tired and lacking motivation, it’s just extremely hard to convince yourself to get up.
I go to bed late. Wake up early. But I literally have to fight myself to get up. If I don’t say these words, I just don’t know what to do with my day.
And then it works.
Crazy how a few words can make a difference. How speaking a few affirmations make a big difference. My mood instantly changes. The joy of motherhood begins to shine a little more. My role as a wife becomes a little more worth while and not so overwhelming.
So I share with you my mantra, because I doubt that I’m alone. Whether it’s because you struggle with parenthood, or you are experiencing a rough patch with your significant other, or simply have been surrounded by negative people during a vulnerable time somehow, I truly believe that a few affirmations in the morning before getting out of bed, it can help change your attitude and help boost your energy to get you out of the funk that’s trying to keep you down.
So try mine for a while. Then get creative and make one that best suits you.
Depression is real, it’s nasty, and I don’t wish it in anyone else. But I had to do something, and so far, it’s helping. I hope it helps you too.
I admire your strength . It’s so important to put good thoughts into the universe it makes me think of this quote it goes ” what you think you become, what you feel you attract, what you imagine you create” – Buddha. Our words and thoughts are so powerful we don’t even realize that’s why its important to make them positive because it can change our lives for the better.
